A Transition Town Action Group For Bury St Edmunds

The Green Fair returns to the Apex in November

On Saturday 1st November 2014, the Green Fair, a free event run by Sustainable Bury, is returning to the Apex auditorium. It will be running alongside the March Hare Collective in the Foyer.

"Building on the success of last year, the Green Fair returns with lots of workshops and practical ideas for sustainable living.

For children, there is storytelling, forest school crafts and recycling activities. For adults, we have the new addition of local food tastings, talks on running a small holding or polytunnel gardening, free alternative therapy treatments and natural fabric dyeing.

People are encouraged to bring along an item of clothing to dye. There will also be advice on reducing energy bills, repairing bikes, composting, recycling, community campaigns and much more" Sustainable Bury

To set the scene at this grass-roots fair, we will have music, yoga, wood turning, vintage clothes, cakes and food tastings from local companies including a company selling the first British-grown Baked Beans!

Advice on using herbal remedies, transition town projects and local conservation add to the mix at this year's Fair.

There will be a raffle on the day with the chance to win a variety of prizes including tea and cake for two at Depden Farm Shop, beer tokens from Camra winning pub The Dove, a solar powered radio from the Smart Green Shop and further prizes.
